Merry Christmas!

We had a great day at home. Grandma & Grandpa came and spent the day with us. It was great having them here. We played the Wii, Grandma & the kids put puzzles together and we just relaxed. I even made Jane's famous apple pie. The kids were so excited about their gifts...Ben with all his Wii games & Pokemon stuff, Molly with her new camera.... but especially Rachel with her new desk from Santa!

Molly's favorite thing!

Molly loves her new camera...but we are not sure about it...yesterday she tried to take a picture of Daddy in the bathroom...guess we need to start locking the door!

What a day.......

Molly had a super day...we went to Gymboree Art Class where she worked on some masterpiece. Then we had lunch at Red Robin. (Ben was not happy that she got a milkshake while he was at school) Then after Ben and Rachel got out of school we had Molly's birthday party. All of Trevor's family were here so she got to celebrate with her cousins. After dinner we celebrated Grandma's birthday (hers is tomorrow but we are doing Christmas tomorrow so we did hers today too, plus Molly doesn't mind sharing her day with her Grandma!) Then tonight we had some special visitors come. Santa and Mrs. Claus. The kids were so thrilled...kind of in shock too, but with comments at bedtime about how it was the real Santa and that Mrs. Claus was just as they had imagined...it was all worth it. Christmas Time.....

Last night we went with some friends to Neiderman Farm to see the lights. They retell the story of the Bible all in lights and music. The kids love it. Although it was very cold, we warmed up with hot chocolate after so it was fine. Here are a few of the pictures.

The kids in front of the manger scene. Molly liked baby Jesus.

Nutcracker Ballet

Rachel was an angel in the Nutcracker on Sunday....she did awesome. This photo was taken before the dress rehearsal on Sat. You can't take pictures during the show so a lot of them are before and after the show. More are in an album if you want to take a look:

After the show she said, "all the rehearsals and practices...it was all worth it!!!"
That's all that matters! Plus we were so proud of her!

we get home she gets her second wind!!! Happy Holidays!

Comments from the Hanlon Home!

I am downstairs while the kids are upstairs playing. Rachel comes down to tell me something and we hear Ben & Molly being all wild upstairs. So Rachel (in her crown & gown), turns around, waves her wand and says, "I need to get back upstairs, there seems to be some commotion with my servants up there!"
Now Ben tells me that Molly is going to be a little who from Whoville and he's the Grinch and they are acting out How the Grinch Stole Christmas.....never a dull moment!

Thanksgiving trip!

We met my sister Tammy in Tennessee so we could spend Thanksgiving with her. We had a good trip and we were glad we were there with her so maybe the kids would keep her mind occupied since the holidays will be hard for her. On the way home we stopped at Cumberland Falls State Park in Kentucky. The kids loved it...we may have to go back! Lots of hiking trails, rocks to climb on, and the waterfall was...as they said, "awesome!"
