Happy Easter!

I had a request for an Easter picture so here it is. We had a great Easter day here with all of Trevor's family. So the cousins had fun hunting eggs and being together for the day. And we all enjoyed the big meal together.
This is also Spring Break week for us. Trevor took off work Wednesday through Friday and we took the kids to Indiana. We stayed at the hotel that Uncle Sean manages in Bloomington so the kids could swim. Molly was jumping in, going under and was all over the pool. She will really love the pool this summer. Then we went to Indy to the Children's Museum on Thursday. Drove to Grandma and Grandpa's and spent the night and now we are back home.....all passing around colds. It figures....always something!

Celebrating Grandpa's #70!

Since we had the blizzard on Grandpa's birthday and couldn't go celebrate we had dinner and cake this week. Grandma and Grandpa came down on Wed. (they came for Ben and Rachel's first grade musical, but it ended up being rescheduled due to the flooding) so we ended up just having dinner and cake. Maureen, Vic and Michael joined us, the kids like any birthday celebration! He may have turned a year older but acts and looks much younger! GO Grandpa!

GO HOGS GO!

Go Razorbacks.....they beat number 4 yesterday and are playing for the SEC Championship today against Georgia......GO HOGS GO!!!!!!!!!

Okay....so they didn't win but they did better this year than I thought they would!
Plus I am a big Tiger Woods fan so with his win today that made the Hogs loss a little better!

Big Winners!!

Friday night at school was the Bingo, Silent Auction, Raffles, and Art Show. Ben and Rachel both had 4 things each in the art show....really impressive! When we get them back we will have to post something to show. The art teacher tried to put one of every students in the show so to have 4 was awesome!! Then yesterday we got a call to say that we were the big winners of some of the raffles. The PTO President said when she they kept pulling out Hanlon it was getting suspicious. lol Ben won Principle of the Day, Rachel won the class project (that Grandpa just happen to build and the kids all painted it) which was a wrapping paper stand with 8 rolls of wrapping paper on it, and I won a basket to a Spa Boutique place in Hyde Park for a hair cut, $50 gc and lots of others goodies in basket. I will get it on Monday and see what else is in it. The funny part was the Maureen and Michael went with us and Michael dropped a ticket in for this mirror (but not something they wanted and girlie) and that is what they won. Maureen said as soon as he dropped it in she thought, "that will probably be what we win!" lol

Tired... but so hungry!!

Today while eating lunch I look over and Molly is falling asleep but totally chowing away on her grilled cheese, crunchy carrots with ranch and grapes. It was so funny. She kept on eating while I got the camera but didn't open her eyes. Of course now that she is in bed she is all awake and talking now that it is time for her to nap. (She ended up talking for a hour and a half after I put her down...go figure!)
The red on her chin (if you can see it) is from her sledding injury. She and Ben had a flip that scratched her up pretty good.
All the kids used to fall asleep like this but Molly hasn't done it for a long time...maybe it's the time change! Too cute!

Digging Out!

The snow has stopped...finally. It snowed like this for 2 days. They originally said 6-8 inches but then changed it from a winter storm warning to a blizzard warning with about 15 inches of snow. The wind was about 40 mph so the drifts are even worse. There were white out conditions and level 3 warnings that no one could be on the road unless it was an emergency vehicle. Molly didn't quite know what to think when she couldn't even walk in it because it was so deep so Trevor made her paths around while we were trying to shovel out. A neighbor came today and used his snow blower to help so we at least have a path out. Although the plow has not been through the neighborhood yet so we can't go far. Ben & Rachel love going out just to come back in and have hot chocolate. Of course that is Molly's favorite too if we can get her to come back in, she just loves playing with her shovel and pail.
Enjoy the pictures!

Snow, Snow, and more snow............

As I sit here and watch the snow come down....we are getting hammered today and tomorrow, (they are saying around 10 inches) I wonder if spring is going to come? I thought we were done with the snow. The kids went to school but were sent home at noon. They have used all of their snow days up so I was glad that they went long enough to count it a day. The snow plows came through once but you can't tell where they plowed anymore. Trevor is wanting to go out, but I am thinking it is warm and cozy inside. But Mommy will bundle everyone up and go out for the kids sake (and Trevor's too) and then we will come in and enjoy the potato soup that is in the crock pot. Happy Winter! Off to freeze! lol

Rachel too!

I took Rachel this morning to have a strep test done...even though she feels fine and of course it was positive too. I found out 3 other kids around her had it this week too...plus Ben. Third time is a charm...so no more!!! I hope! They had it in Nov., Jan., and now. I sent a warning note to all the parents from their class and hopefully they won't get it again. They were both so brave and opted for the shot instead of the antibiotics...and it was a BIG needle. No tears, but my dramatic boy was dragging his leg behind him this morning! lol
